Modern Foreign Languages (MFL) Teacher - French and Spanish

Working Hours: Monday to Friday, 08:15 to 15:30 (including planning and marking time)
Our Client is seeking an enthusiastic and motivated Modern Foreign Languages (MFL) Teacher to join their dedicated team. This full-time position involves teaching both French and Spanish across Key Stages 3, 4, and potentially Key Stage 5. The successful candidate will be responsible for delivering engaging and challenging lessons that promote language learning and cultural awareness while providing a supportive and stimulating classroom environment.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Lesson Planning and Delivery: Prepare and deliver high-quality, engaging lessons in both French and Spanish, tailored to the needs of students at various levels (KS3, KS4, and KS5).
2. Assessment and Feedback: Use a variety of assessment methods to monitor student progress and understanding. Provide constructive feedback to help students improve their language skills and overall performance.
3. Marking and Record Keeping: Efficiently mark and assess students' work, ensuring feedback is timely and meaningful. Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of student achievement and progress.
4. Classroom Management: Create a positive, inclusive, and respectful classroom atmosphere that encourages student participation, enthusiasm for languages, and academic achievement.
5. Collaboration: Work closely with other MFL staff to develop and share resources, strategies, and best practices to enhance teaching and learning within the department.
6. Curriculum Development: Contribute to the development and review of the MFL curriculum, ensuring it is relevant, challenging, and inspiring for all learners.
Key Skills and Qualifications:
1. Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent.
2. A degree in French, Spanish, or a related language subject.
3. Previous experience teaching French and Spanish at the Secondary level (preferred).
4. A strong understanding of the MFL curriculum, with the ability to teach both languages effectively across Key Stages 3, 4, and 5.
5. Excellent communication skills, with the ability to engage and motivate students.
6. Strong organisational and time management skills, including the ability to manage lesson planning, marking, and administrative duties efficiently.
7. A passion for languages and teaching, with a commitment to fostering a love of language learning in students.
8. The ability to work effectively as part of a team and to support the department's goals.
Hours & Pay:
1. Full-time role, Monday to Friday, 08:15 to 15:30, including time for planning and marking.
2. Salary will be competitive and based on experience and qualifications.
