We are hiring now expanding our site Environmental Health and Safety team by hiring an Environmental Health & Safety (EHS) Advisor to join us on a full-time basis on our state-of-the-art facility in Greater Manchester.
What you will do:
As EHS Advisor you will make a tangible impact by supporting the EHS Manager in promoting a positive culture and driving continuous improvement initiatives across the site. In this pivotal role, you will support the EHS Manager to ensure compliance with all corporate and UK statutory EHS requirements, while working to create a safer, more sustainable work environment. You will be responsible for driving key initiatives that enhance EHS performance and support global goals for reducing CO2 emissions. Nexperia Manchester employ over 1200 talented individuals working together to produce over 14,000 semiconductor wafers each week.

Your responsibilities will include:
•Supporting the EHS Manager in ensuring compliance with corporate and UK statutory EHS regulations, including ISO14001 and ISO45001 accreditation audits.
•Coordinating and performing risk assessments, managing the site’s risk assessment program and ensuring timely implementation of corrective actions.
•Managing the incident and accident reporting system, validating the completion of corrective actions and supporting continuous improvement initiatives.
•Overseeing internal EHS audits and lead the internal audit program to ensure adherence to policies and identify areas for improvement.
•Supporting the coordination of environmental permit applications, license variations, and ensuring compliance with environmental monitoring requirements (e.g., air emissions, groundwater).
•Providing technical support for waste management processes, chemical safety (REACH, CLP, COMAH), and maintaining the chemical safety database.
•Leading and coordinating EHS training programs, emergency response procedures, and crisis management processes as needed.
•Assisting with monthly, quarterly, and annual reporting, supporting global CO2 reduction initiatives, and contributing to the company’s CSR audits and environmental performance improvements.
What You Will Need:
We are looking for an EHS advisor who is eager to learn and develop while bringing expertise in key safety processes.
You will have the following:
Essential skills:
•IOSH, NVQ or NEBOSH general certificate in Occupational Heath and Safety. (or working towards a NEBOSH diploma is advantageous)
•A minimum of 1-2 years of industry experience within manufacturing or production within a similar industry
•Knowledge of EHS processes such as Operating permits, licenses, consents, COSHH etc
•Knowledge of ISO standards for auditing procedures
•A desire to make an impact, learn and progress
•Ability work as part of a team and individually
•Ability to work on site 5 days per week (Monday to Thursday 8am-4.30pm and Fridays until 2pm)
Desirable skills:
• Experience in working within semiconductor, chemical, gas, or similar manufacturing industries
