What will I be doing?
As our Data Developer, you will play a key role within our innovative product engineering team, helping to design, implement, and maintain efficient and scalable data solutions that support our product development activities, as well as meeting our customer needs. The Travel Chapter is a data-led organisation, and your work will directly contribute to staff, client, and owner experiences when engaging with our systems.
As part of your everyday role, you’re likely to be involved in the following:
1. Designing, building, and maintaining large-scale data solutions and applications using our data development tools
2. Working closely with Delivery and Product teams, providing progress updates and ensuring timely project completion
3. Maintaining data quality assurance processes alongside lead Data Developers to verify the accuracy, completeness, and consistency of our data sets
4. Providing and supporting code reviews to drive the quality of each developed release
5. Staying updated with the latest industry trends
6. Assisting in troubleshooting production issues through to resolution, ensuring actions are taken to minimise future reoccurrence
7. Providing occasional out-of-hours support as required, in line with organisational SLAs

Ideally, we’re looking for commercial experience in the following:
8. MySQL
9. MS SQL Server
10. Python ◦ Building APIs
11. Understanding of testing strategies
12. Understanding of Agile methodologies
13. API development
14. An excellent understanding of databases and SQL

15. Excellent attention to detail
16. Excellent written and oral communications skills
17. Confident enough to constructively challenge a technique or decision
18. Can approach difficult conversations diplomatically
19. Are good at managing priorities and seeing the bigger
