Utilise tools like PECS, core boards, and TouchChat to support communication for verbal and non-verbal learners. Collaborate closely with 4 skilled teaching assistants to provide comprehensive support to each child. Foster independence while creating a safe and inclusive classroom environment. Manage challenging behaviours with calm, proactive strategies to ensure all pupils thrive. What We're Looking For To succeed as an SEN Teacher, you will need: Essential Qualifications: Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) - this is mandatory for the role. Proven experience teaching children with SEN, including ASD, SLD, and SEMH. Familiarity with alternative communication methods, such as PECS, core boards, or TouchChat. Team Teach certification or willingness to complete the training. A calm, adaptable approach to managing challenging behaviours.Highly Desirable Skills: Experience in sensory-focused teaching methods and differentiated learning.
