An exciting opportunity has arisen for a full-time (37.5 hours), Band 7 Professional Lead Occupational Therapist in adult mental health within the Torfaen borough.
The post holder will work clinically on the Talygarn inpatient unit with a dedicated caseload and will be expected to work flexibly to meet the demands of the service.
Key Responsibilities
* Provide specialist assessment, advice, and intensive intervention for individuals requiring occupational therapy services.
* Lead by example, demonstrating excellent OT practice and responsiveness to emerging evidence.
* Offer expert OT advice, joint working, and second opinions concerning highly complex cases.
* Maintain operational management responsibility for all Occupational Therapists within the designated team.
* Plan, develop, and evaluate occupational therapy services for the designated team, holding responsibility for defined projects.
* Initiate, implement specific audit, research, and development projects relating to OT practice/service delivery within the designated team.
* Provide training and development opportunities within the OT team.
* Lead OT practice leadership to colleagues in the team and mentorship to OT colleagues in other teams who require specialist guidance.
* Hold financial responsibility for authorizing time sheets and expenses claims.
The Model of Human Occupation is being implemented across the service, and Recovery Through Activity has been embedded as a core intervention across in-patient and community services.
