Production Operative

We are now recruiting for a Production Operative to join our growing team, required to operate the in a highly automated, leading-edge production facility to manufacture superior quality paving and walling products in a safe and efficient manner.

Core Hours: 40 hours over 5 day week
About the role
KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES
* Ensure compliance with AG Health, Safety, Environmental and Quality (HSEQ) Policies & Procedures, safe systems of work and legislative requirements. Reporting improvements using AG’s Engage Software
* Take personal responsibility for safety; ultimately ensuring that you go home safe daily.
* Ensure that HSEQ risks are eliminated or controlled during all activities, completing production and pre-use HSEQ checks as required.
* Maintain a clean and tidy work area, ensuring housekeeping is kept at the required high standard.
* Ensure product meets the required quality standard, maintain supporting records throughout the production process.
* Operate quarry mobile plant in a safe working manner.
* Operate washing and crushing plant as required.
* To support the team and become proficient in all aspects of operations.
* Troubleshooting - utilise resources to respond quickly to conditions.
* Following the tools of the Lean Management system to drive continuous improvement while being aware of associated costs of production and proactively striving to increase productivity whilst maintaining quality of output.
* Support maintenance tasks, and help during machine down time and machine repairs, liaise with Site Supervisor regarding preventative and planned maintenance of machinery and help with routine maintenance tasks.
* Any other duties commensurate with the role and within capabilities

Required Criteria
* Medically fit to undertake the physical requirements of the job.
* Previous experience of working in a fast paced manufacturing environment.
* Computer Literate
* Adherence and appreciation for H&S litigation and general housekeeping standards
* Reliable. Works well on own initiative and as part of a team.
* Ability to meet production deadlines
* Experience of effective communication to team members
* Can travel to and from work areas as and when required.
* Available to respond to production problems outside of normal hours
Desired Criteria
* Previous experience of concrete products manufacturing
* Previous experience of quality control
* At least 1 year's previous forklift, driving experience preferably within a busy manufacturing environment
* Previous experience in routine and preventative maintenance programmes
