Ward 23 is a 26-bedded acute short stay ward with 4 enhanced monitored beds. We are looking for a Clinical Sister to work alongside the manager to ensure high standards of patient care.
We are seeking a Clinical Sister to support the ward and deputy Ward Manager in the development of the nursing team by exhibiting excellent standards, delivering high quality evidence-based care, and leading the team in identifying and actioning areas of training and development required within the ward.
You will need to demonstrate excellent standards, be willing to support all areas of the unit, and have the leadership skills to support the Ward and Deputy Ward Manager.
You will ensure high quality, evidence-based care is offered to patients and, in collaboration with the Ward Manager, identify common issues affecting the quality of care, devising clear action plans to address any shortcomings.
In collaboration with the Ward Manager and Deputy, ensure that patients have a satisfactory experience by evaluating patient processes and the pathway of care. Support the Ward Manager and Deputy in ensuring clinical audit takes place in line with the trust's requirements to improve practice. Act as a point of contact for patients, visitors, relatives, and staff, addressing problems and needs while clearly presenting the patients' views to others.
Be responsible for assisting others in maintaining their potential through the appraisal process, supporting learning, and ensuring staff maintain their mandatory training.
Be the main point of contact for new staff, including student nurses, international nurses, newly qualified nurses, and healthcare assistants.
Demonstrate professional leadership, support the clinical team, and act as a credible and professional role model, encouraging and empowering other staff to develop both personally and professionally.
Assist the Ward Manager and Deputy with the day-to-day management of the ward, including rostering, incident investigation, and complaints handling.
