Due to the introduction of new packaging lines and a new product line, we are looking for a Maintenance Engineer to join this experienced maintenance team at this food manufacturing business in Barnsley. There is significant investment going into the plant over the next 2 years, with a further expansion to the team planned next year. It's a great time to be joining the business. The senior leadership team believes in promoting from within; the current engineering team has seen 4 individuals promoted in the last 6 months.
Responsibilities of a multi-skilled maintenance engineer:
1. Both reactive and planned maintenance on high-speed packing machinery.
2. Undertake machine start-up routine and non-routine planned shutdown as required.
3. To undertake full diagnosis and implement corrective actions to minimise downtime.
4. To communicate machine status and performance across shifts.
Qualifications required to become a Maintenance Engineer:
1. Time served or Apprentice Trained Engineer.
2. NVQ/ City and Guilds Level 3 or greater either Mechanically or Electrically.
3. 17th/ 18th Edition.
4. Experience within a Food or Fast-Paced Manufacturing Environment.
5. You will need to be a team player and have a passion for learning.
