My Client is looking for a Compliance Director from a Manufacturing background to enhance and maintain Quality, Health, Safety & Environment, Business Excellence, Business Continuity, and Continuous Improvement activities. This business is a leading UK Manufacturer, known for their precision engineering. These activities shall include planning, implementation, and maintenance of systems and initiatives, management of key indicators, and driving continuous improvement philosophies.
To provide oversight, guidance, and support for the Quality Manager and the Quality Team and provide monthly Quality, Environment, and Health & Safety (QESH) reporting and updates to the Senior Leadership Team.
The Compliance Director will be required to support other functions and customers, provide direction to production, conduct audits, and assist and instruct the Quality Team and personnel in the use of problem-solving tools and the Quality/Integrated Management Systems.
Responsibilities
1. Overall accountability for the development, implementation, and maintenance/upkeep of manuals, procedures, and work/technical instructions for the business relating to ISO9001, ISO14001, ISO45001.
2. Providing leadership and guidance to the Quality Manager and the Quality Team.
3. Assisting with maintaining safe working conditions and leading the Health & Safety Committee. Documenting all the COSHH assessments and risk assessments in line with current legislation and corporate directives.
4. Ensuring all the necessary systems, processes, controls, and reports are in place and maintained within the IMS.
5. Ensuring liaison with the relevant certification bodies and ensuring all the necessary data is available. This includes auditing data and documentation that are essential to maintain existing registrations.
6. Ensuring internal and Second Party audits are in place and robust. Supporting the Quality Manager and providing oversight for external and customer audit activities.
7. Analysing and producing Quality/Business Excellence data KPI's with the objective of achieving continuous improvement.
8. Observation and implementation of 6S methodologies as part of the daily routine.
9. Develop and execute plans which drive improvement in Quality, Health, Safety & Environment, Business Excellence, and Business Continuity.
10. Ensure compliance to Quality, Health, Safety & Environment, Business Excellence, Business Continuity standards through appropriate use of audits and other controls.
11. Provide monthly reporting and other required updates to the Senior Leadership Team.
Skills and Qualifications
1. Preferably Quality qualification such as CQI membership.
2. ONC/HNC in mechanical engineering discipline.
3. IRCA Lead Auditor/Internal Auditing.
4. Understanding of EFQM, Lean, Safety, Quality Systems (AS9100, Nadcap, etc).
