Are You Ready to Lead the Future of Student Wellbeing?
At Global Academy, we’re not just about education—we’re about transforming lives. As a pioneering creative industry school, we equip students with the academic, technical, and personal skills to thrive in the world of media, digital content, and beyond. But success starts with exceptional pastoral care—and that’s where you come in.
We’re looking for a visionary and passionate leader to take on the role of Director of Pastoral Care. This is your chance to make a real impact, shaping a culture where every student feels safe, supported, and empowered to reach their full potential.
Your Mission
As Director of Pastoral Care, you will:
Lead a high-impact pastoral strategy—fostering a school culture where students excel academically and personally.
Be at the forefront of behaviour, attendance, and safeguarding, ensuring a structured, respectful, and inclusive environment.
Line manage key student support staff including the Attendance Officer, Mental Health Worker, Behaviour Mentor, and Medical Lead—ensuring every student receives the care they need.
Champion mental health and wellbeing, embedding strategies that proactively support students and staff alike.
Drive high expectations in student behaviour, using restorative approaches to build a culture of respect, responsibility, and resilience.
Support in overseeing the PSHE and RSE curriculum (G:CL) to ensure students are equipped with the knowledge and skills for life beyond school.
Act as a Deputy Safeguarding Lead (DSL), ensuring all safeguarding policies and practices are robust, effective, and responsive.
Work closely with families and external agencies, building partnerships that enhance student support and personal development.
Support and train staff, ensuring every team member plays an active role in the pastoral care of students.
Monitor key data on attendance, behaviour, and wellbeing, using insights to shape effective interventions.
