WANTED: A Deputy Children’s Care Home Manager – Sutton-in-Ashfield
“To strive, to seek, to find, and not to yield.” – This is not just a quote for explorers, but for those who seek purpose. We are searching for a Deputy Children’s Home Manager in Sutton-in-Ashfield—an opportunity for the brave, the relentless, and those driven by passion to shape the future of a new children’s home.
This is your chance to be part of something extraordinary. If you're seeking the next step, this is it. You will be trained to become the Residential Manager of your own home, with guidance from a supportive team and the opportunity to grow within a brand-new project. We’re not just looking for a manager, we’re looking for someone with the courage to lead, the heart to care, and the grit to make it all happen.
The Challenge:
You’ll step into a 2-bed children’s home, ground zero of a fresh project, working side by side with the company directors. You’ll not only help shape this home but will carve your own path as a future Residential Manager. Here, initiative isn’t just encouraged—it’s necessary. We’re seeking someone who can think outside the box, forge new pathways, and deliver care that doesn’t just meet expectations, but exceeds them.
What You’ll Be Doing:
* Lead from the front: Guide, mentor, and inspire the staff under your care while supporting the wider team. You will play a pivotal role in raising the standard of care.
* Build something real: Help develop the culture and systems of a completely new home. You’re not inheriting the status quo; you’re helping create it.
* Deliver life-changing support: Provide children with the best possible outcomes through personalized, hands-on care.
* Champion standards: Ensure compliance with Children’s Homes Regulations (2015) and OFSTED requirements—standards are high because the stakes are even higher.
What We Need From You:
* Experience: You’ve worked with children in residential settings for at least 3 of the last 5 years. You’ve walked the walk and are ready for more.
* NVQ Level 3 (or equivalent): You’ve got the qualifications that show you understand the complexity of care.
* Knowledge: You know Children’s Homes Regulations like the back of your hand and understand what’s needed to pass an OFSTED inspection with flying colors.
* Attitude: You’re bold, fearless, and driven by a passion to make a difference in the lives of vulnerable children. You never back down from a challenge, and you always look for solutions.
What’s On Offer:
* Salary: £45,000 to £50,000, including achievable bonuses that reward your dedication.
* Hours: Monday to Friday, 9:00 AM to 5:00 PM—rare in this industry, right?
* Future: Training and support to become the Registered Manager of your very own home.
* Freedom: A chance to create, lead, and improve every day—not just a cog in the machine, but a vital part of something transformative.
The Person We’re Looking For:
* You care deeply: You’re not in this for the paycheque. You’re here because you want to make a real difference in the lives of children with special needs.
* You’re a problem-solver: Where others see obstacles, you see challenges to be overcome. You don’t flinch at adversity, you thrive on it.
* You support those around you: You lift up junior staff, create a positive environment, and lead by example. You know that the best leaders are those who build up those around them.
* You aim for more: Mediocrity isn’t in your vocabulary. You strive for excellence, always seeking ways to improve yourself, your team, and the system.
This isn’t just another job. It’s a chance to leave your mark, to build something from the ground up, and to lead with purpose. You’ll be part of a small, child-focused team that delivers care as it should be: genuine, thoughtful, and driven by heart.
Ready to take the leap? Apply today and start a journey that won’t just change your career but could change lives.
