We are seeking an enthusiastic and proactive Clinical Assistant in Guildford, who enjoys patient contact and working in a busy, friendly, multi-disciplinary team environment to support us in the delivery of a quality service.
Day to day, the role will primarily involve clinical duties to support our medical team, such as completing ECGs, vital signs and Phlebotomy, as well as clinical trial documentation and chaperone duties. The role will also involve supporting the Site Leads with the monthly clinical audit programme and governance, maintaining a safe environment for our service users and staff and ensuring that the highest levels of hygiene and cleanliness are maintained at all times.
Clinical Assistant Responsibilities:
* Under the direction and supervision of a trained Clinician, carry out delegated clinical procedures within the required competencies and to assist with the care and treatment of clinical trial patients.
* Ensure accurate and complete documentation relevant to the clinical trial procedures is completed in accordance to ICH Good Clinical Practice.
* Confidently manage busy patient areas, ensuring patient comfort and high-quality care at all times.
* Under the direct supervision of the Centre Manager, undertake clinical governance audits, support the Centre Manager to maintain a clean and safe environment
* Maintain stock levels in clinical areas.
* To ensure that patients are helped and supported, to retain their dignity and individuality.
* To provide support and assistance to professionals when they are performing specific therapies, clinical treatments and investigative programs for patients.
* To communicate positively and tactfully with patients, their relatives, carers and visitors.
* With appropriate training will perform blood pressure recordings, height, weight, ECG, medical history review and venepuncture procedures following completion of the relevant competency training.
* Assist sites with studies related administrative tasks.
* Assist with pharmacy tasks, act as unblinded verifier for delegated studies.
* To act as a chaperone.
Clinical Assistant Requirements:
The successful candidate will have great organisational skills and will be able to prioritise their workload. A high standard of work presentation and accuracy are essential.
* Clinical experience within a healthcare setting is essential
* MUST HAVE some phlebotomy experience
* Requires excellent communication and customer service skills
* To act in a professional and caring manner towards patients, visitors and colleagues at all times.
