Description The Anglian Water Strategic Pipeline Alliance (SPA) project currently involves the planning, design and construction of circa 320km of new strategic, large diameter, clean water interconnector pipelines and associated infrastructure across Anglian Water’s region. The SPA Alliance is also taking on responsibility for the future interconnector pipelines, a further 260km of strategic interconnector pipelines and associated infrastructure. Anglian Water have proposed to build a new strategic water interconnector pipeline from Grantham Water Treatment Works to Rede Reservoir by 2030. This is an approximately 71km pipeline in length which includes three non-infrastructure sites, Grantham WTW pumping station, Inline Booster pumping station and new Rede Reservoir with a total value of the project to be circa £300m. Grafham to Rede strategic interconnector project will support long term growth to the region and bring benefits to customers, communities and the environment. In addition, it will enable Anglian Water to reduce the amount of water we take from the environment, as well as strengthen resilience by reducing the number of homes and businesses which rely on a single water source.
