Head of Security Safety, Health and Environment (SSHE)
A top hotel business are seeking a Head of Security, Safety, Health & Environment to join their London team. You will lead and manage comprehensive security, safety, health, and environmental programs across the hotel group.
You will develop, implement, and continuously improve strategic initiatives to ensure the highest standards of guest and employee safety, asset protection, and regulatory/legal compliance. You will collaborate with senior management to align these programs with the company's business objectives.
Reporting to the Head of Operations, you will be managing a team of 3 people.
Key Responsibilities:
Provide strategic and technical support to business leaders and managers for effective management of operational compliance in health and safety, food safety, fire safety, business continuity/crisis management, security management, accessibility, and environmental management.
Monitor and ensure compliance with safety legislation in the UK and EU, advising on interpretations and impacts to senior management.
Conduct audits and inspections to ensure compliance and drive continuous improvement in safety standards across all properties.
Collaborate with senior management to support General Managers in meeting safety responsibilities and enhancing safety within their regions.
Lead proactive risk mitigation programs and plans, fostering a culture of safety improvement.
Identify training needs and develop relevant programs, including e-learning initiatives.
Manage external service providers related to safety, ensuring value for money.
Act as the technical lead in serious incidents, maintaining relationships with external bodies and authorities.
Provide leadership and development opportunities for the SHE team.Essential Skills and Qualifications:
Minimum NEBOSH Certificate or equivalent in health and safety.
Food Safety qualification at a minimum of Level 3.
Proven experience in a similar role.
Excellent teamwork and communication skills.
IT proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.
Ability to travel to various sites as needed.Desirable Skills:
Experience in multi-site operations.
Background in hospitality or catering safety.
Operational focus aligned with business goals.
Collaborative and engagement-oriented approach.
