An amazing opportunity for an ambitious Quantity Surveyor to join a Construction Consultancy firm in Manchester. The ideal candidate will be a self-motivated individual ready to run small projects and parts of a large complex project as part of a team. You will have the opportunity to work on a vast range of exciting new projects within the infrastructure.
This role is perfect for a Quantity Surveyor looking to progress quickly within an excellent employee culture.
Responsibilities of the Successful Quantity Surveyor:
* Assist in establishing client's requirements and undertake initial cost planning exercises.
* Carry out cost planning and value engineering to RIBA design stages and give informed client cost advice.
* Understand and develop opinions on procurement strategies.
* Prepare tender and contract documents, including BOQ's for checking by senior staff.
* Carry out tender appraisals and identify recommendations for the client.
* Monitor and record costs of projects.
* Identify risks to projects and assess cost variations.
* Value completed works and arrange payments in accordance with the contract.
* Produce draft project or claim reports under the supervision of senior staff.
* Issue notices in accordance with the contract under claim situations.
* Liaise and communicate confidently with other members of the project or client team.
* Maintain detailed variation and risk register information.
* Prepare draft final accounts.
Requirements of the Successful Quantity Surveyor:
* Confident to attend and contribute to project meetings.
* NEC contract experience.
* Strong procurement experience.
* Thorough knowledge of construction techniques and principles.
* Smart & presentable.
* Confident with accuracy and attention to detail.
* Good communicator.
