We now have two main brands, Falcon Timber our national distribution arm and Hoffman Triesse our multi-site manufacturing operation, which allows us to offer a truly one stop solution for our diverse range of customers.
We are seeking a commercially driven Group Credit Manager to lead the team through our next stage of growth, as we continue to deliver our next 5 years business strategy. You will lead a team of very capable and knowledgeable credit controllers, who take a real pride in their work. Our head office function is based in Tilbury, and we would expect our Group Credit Manager to be on site for 4 days a week with one day working from home.
Core Responsibilities:
* Manage the efficient collection of receivables in a controlled and efficient manner.
* Conduct regular reviews of our credit control policies and procedures, and ensure they continue to evolve.
* Work with senior managers and the sales teams on process and framework, and partner on key decisions regarding customer accounts and activity.
* Lead, mentor, and motivate the credit control team.
* Liaise and interact with credit insurance bodies, both internal and external.
* Provide guidance and support to the team on assessing the creditworthiness of customers through credit checks and analysis.
* Collaborate with sales and customer service teams to address any credit-related issues.
* Attend a weekly cash flow forecast meeting and provide a report of the health check in relation to credit issues.
* Implement effective strategies for managing overdue accounts and reducing bad debts.
* Analyse trends and identify areas for improvement in credit control processes.
* Provide reports, insights and recommendations to senior management on a monthly basis.
* Build and maintain strong relationships with key customers in partnership with the sales teams.
Qualifications:
* Strong track record of managing credit control teams and processes.
* Commercial awareness of the relationships within organisations.
* Experience of working in a product trading environment and the challenges this presents, with a highly commercial approach.
* Excellent leadership and team management skills.
* Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
* Effective communicator, able to negotiate and influence a diverse group of internal stakeholders and external partners.
* Professional certification in credit management (e.g., CICM) is desirable.
