MAIN PURPOSE:
To lead and manage the Marketing and Communications team at Brainkind to deliver a high standard of marketing and communications activity, leading campaigns to support our business growth and recruitment.
You will lead internal communications, helping to position Brainkind as a great place to work and building our employee value proposition.
As a member of a small, dedicated team, this is a hands-on role, requiring both strategic thinking and practical implementation. You will deliver all day-to-day marketing and communications activities, including multichannel campaigns, social media management, and content creation.
MAIN TASKS AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
MARKETING
* To deliver strategic marketing campaigns for Brainkind, particularly focussed on driving recruitment and supporting occupancy for our services, to ensure we are financially sustainable.
* Work with our External affairs team to develop campaigns to build support and audience for the Brainkind cause.
* To oversee the Brainkind website, ensuring it is fit for purpose and it remains fresh and relevant for our audiences.
* To act as a brand guardian, ensuring that the new brand is delivered in a creative way which cuts through to different audiences.
* Effectively manage processes to ensure the team is effective and efficient, including managing our briefing process and ensuring we have correct consents in place.
EXTERNAL AND INTERNAL COMMUNICATIONS
* To lead PR, media and press activity to raise the profile of the work of Brainkind, and issues of brain injury.
* Working with internal colleagues and stakeholders, develop a bank of stories of our staff and the people supported so we can tell the story of life after brain injury.
* To prepare engaging, incisive media materials, which have cut through with key media outlets.
* Ensure organisational reputation and crisis communications planning and delivery plans are in place.
* Help build the organisation’s Employee Value Proposition, positioning Brainkind as a great place to work.
* To lead internal communications across a range of channels, to ensure colleagues receive messages in a timely and appropriate way.
To develop and implement digital marketing strategies, including social media advertising, email marketing, display ads, Search Engine Optimisation (SEO).
Building and maintaining Brainkind’s brand’s presence across multiple social media channels.
Lead on the continued development and improvement of Brainkind’s website ensuring the best possible functionality and updated content.
GENERAL
* To manage, lead and mentor the Communications and Marketing team, ensuring everyone is delivering modern, engaging and creative communications and fostering a culture of creativity and collaboration.
* Setting clear and effective objectives for all members of the Communications and Marketing team and ensure they are delivered in a timely and cost effective manner to support the delivery of services within Brainkind.
* Ensure consistency in brand messaging and visual identity across all marketing materials and channels.
* Manage the marketing and communications budget, allocating resources effectively to maximise ROI.
* Manage media relations, develop press releases and coordinate public appearances to enhance Brainkind’s reputation.
* Develop and implement crisis communication strategies to protect Brainkind’s reputation and maintain trust.
* Take on projects and assignments, as appropriate.
* Evaluate all activity, using analytical approaches and data to suggest improvements.
* To undertake any other reasonable duties that fall within the role of the Communications and Marketing Manager.
* To undertake any reasonable travelling requirements in order to fulfil the tasks and responsibilities of the role.
* Continuously develop professional knowledge and expertise, attending and participating in learning and development events, meetings, conferences, and events (as requested/approved by line management) to ensure up to date knowledge relevant to the role.
* Attend and participate in regular team and other meetings, both internal and external.
ABOUT YOU:
* Proven knowledge of creating and delivering integrated, strategic marketing and communications plans, in support of organisational goals, to multiple stakeholders.
* Experience of feeding into high level, multi-stakeholder marketing and communications strategies.
* Relevant university level Education.
* English language and Mathematics GCSE grade C or above (or equivalent).
* Effective management of Marketing and Communications individuals and team.
* Clear experience of delivering marketing campaigns and creating engaging collateral, and deploying the right message across multiple platforms and channels.
