As a SENDCo, you will play a pivotal role in ensuring that every student receives the support and resources they need to thrive academically and personally. Key Responsibilities: Strategic Leadership: Develop and implement the school's Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND) policy and ensure that all staff are aware of and adhere to it. Assessment and Identification: Oversee the identification and assessment of students with SEND, working closely with teachers, parents, and external agencies. Individual Education Plans (IEPs): Create and monitor IEPs for students with SEND, ensuring that they receive tailored support to meet their specific needs. Staff Training: Provide training and guidance to school staff on effective teaching strategies for students with SEND. Collaboration: Foster strong relationships with parents, external agencies, and the local authority to support students with SEND effectively. Monitoring and Evaluation: Regularly review the progress of students with SEND and adjust interventions as necessary to ensure they make academic and personal progress. Qualifications and Experience: Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) and a relevant postgraduate qualification in SEND. Proven experience in a similar role, preferably in an educational setting.
