About the role
We are looking for two enthusiastic Senior Library Assistants to work in the historic Bodleian Old Library and Radcliffe Camera and to undertake a range of reader services duties whilst providing high quality customer service. You will contribute to the processes and procedures of the site and help train and support colleagues in the provision of library services as well as reader induction.
You will also provide administrative support in one of two different areas of responsibility. These are: Administration of Information Skills OR Administration of Lending Operations and services
This role requires lifting and carrying boxes of library materials, pushing trolleys, climbing ladders and kick-stools in order to access some of the library’s bookshelves and to re-shelve materials.
About You
You will be educated to A level or equivalent, and have experience of working in a customer-facing role in a library. You will have the ability to communicate effectively, confidently and courteously with library users, colleagues and the public. You will have excellent organisational and IT skills and you will have the ability to work independently using your own initiative and as part of a team.
