Our clients is the largest independent powered access hire company in Tees Valley and surrounding areas. They pride themselves on delivering top-quality Mobile Elevating Work Platforms (MEWPs) and exceptional customer service to a wide range of clients. Due to continued growth and busy operations, they are seeking a proactive and organized individual to join the team as a Hire Desk Administrator at our Darlington office.
Job Overview
We are looking for a new team member to support our busy hire desk, playing a key role in ensuring smooth operations and customer satisfaction. This position involves managing customer enquiries, coordinating hire logistics, and performing general office administration tasks. While experience in the plant hire industry is highly beneficial, full training on our specific hire control software will be provided to the successful candidate.
Key Responsibilities
* Customer Service: Answer customer calls and enquiries regarding MEWP hires and off-hires, providing expert advice on the correct selection of MEWPs to meet their needs.
* Logistics Coordination: Organize the delivery and collection schedule to ensure machines are delivered on time and collected from sites promptly, minimizing delays.
* Administration: Perform general office admin tasks, including maintaining up-to-date and organized digital and physical filing systems.
* Liaison: Collaborate with on-site engineers, drivers, and third-party providers to arrange breakdown call-outs and transport logistics efficiently.
* Training Advice: Provide information and advice to customers about IPAF training offered by our client, including upcoming availability.
Skills and Experience
* Essential: Strong organizational skills, excellent communication abilities, and a customer-focused attitude. Comfortable working in a fast-paced environment and managing multiple tasks.
* Desirable: Previous experience within the plant hire industry or a similar sector (e.g., equipment rental, construction logistics). Familiarity with MEWPs or hire desk operations is advantageous.
* Training: Full training will be provided on our hire control software, ensuring you’re equipped to succeed in the role.
