We’d love to hear from you About the role Join our dynamic team and support the Chief Operating Officer in collaboration with the Chief Strategy Officer to shape and drive a comprehensive, forward-thinking strategic plan for Operations that fosters both growth and commercial success. As the Senior Operations Strategy Manager, you’ll work closely with Client and Product teams to ensure alignment in strategy and operating models, with a focus on reimagining and digitizing client journeys. Partnering with the Investment & Programme Management Office (IPMO), you’ll help track and manage all strategic initiatives in Operations, ensuring visibility into Tech & Data interdependencies as we build the Core Wealth Platform. Additionally, you’ll play a key role in monitoring HL's market progress, analysing emerging trends, and providing valuable competitor and market insights to guide HL's operational priorities. What you’ll be doing Support the COO in developing and evolving a comprehensive, inclusive strategic plan and growth strategy for the Operations function; this role will work closely with the central Strategy team but will be embedded within the Operations function working alongside the COO and Operations SLT to help drive forward the development and delivery of the Ops plan. Support the Chief Operating Officer in running the annual strategy process to provide both a clear narrative of progress over the prior 12 months and provide recommendations to evolve strategic plans forward a further year to build a rolling 3-year plan that ensures delivery of strategic goals. Support the Operations function to ensure the annual operating plan and budget process delivers a plan that is aligned to HL’s overall strategic plan, working closely with SLT to deliver the functions longer term goals. Support the Chief Operating Officer in the redesign and digitalisation of all client journeys Support the continuous monitoring and analysis of market trends, macroeconomic factors, market share changes, government regulation, strategic risks and competitive landscapes in the platform and investment operations sector, providing insights and recommendations to the Operations SLT to ensure we evolve our strategy to assist our strategic aim of being at the forefront of the market Work closely with IPMO to ensure tracking and control of all Operations strategic initiatives, ensuring clear sight of Tech & Data interdependencies Support the COO in the preparation, presentation and monitoring of core reporting, including but not limited to OKRs, Quarterly Business review (QBR) and Board and ExCo materials. Provide support and help drive specific strategic transformation projects from initial scope through to implementation for the Operations function. Proactively engage and collaborate with key stakeholders across the broader HL business to ensure a joined-up approach; particularly across Digital, Client, Product, Finance and Risk. Provide support to the strategy capability across HL, fostering a collaborative and inclusive work environment, promoting knowledge sharing and cross-functional cooperation. About you Experience of working within and having a thorough understanding of financial service and Wealth/ Platform environments- built through either industry or professional services experience In-depth experience of operational transformation, with particular focus on client journey reengineering and the implications for an organisation Experience of supporting the development of strategic plans across an organisation. Strong commercial awareness Accomplished relationship builder, with the ability to build consensus and strengthen the collaboration amongst diverse stakeholders Excellent attention to detail, with an equally good understanding of the big picture applying a curious mindset. Ability to juggle competing priorities across a broad and fast paced environment. Good knowledge of financial services and investment products is preferred; prior knowledge of HL would be advantageous Excellent communication skills and the ability to articulate complex information in an engaging and simplistic way. Excellent written and oral communication skills are essential Strong PowerPoint skills are essential Interview process The selection process will incorporate competency-based questions including an assessment of your technical knowledge and transferable skills. Working Schedule This role is based in Bristol head office, BS1 5HL. This role is permanent, full time, 37.5 hours per week, Monday to Friday.
