If you are keen to combine an excellent forward thinking and dynamic working environment with fantastic lifestyle opportunities in the South Cumbria and North Lancashire area, this community learning disability physiotherapy post is for you!
LSCFT learning disability care group has a growing Physiotherapy workforce with big visions for improving our service, delivering high quality assessment and intervention for adults with learning disabilities in the community. Based in Lancaster, Kendal or Barrow-in-Furness you will work in an experienced multi-disciplinary team, with regular supervision and support from a Band 7 learning disability physiotherapist. We are committed to ongoing professional development of our workforce and driving service development initiatives.
In this role you will work with clinical colleagues from a range of professions to deliver person centred, evidence based physiotherapy. We provide a wide range of Physiotherapy assessment and interventions for people with learning disabilities who cannot successfully access mainstream Physiotherapy services. This results in a varied and interesting caseload, where no two days are the same. We are fortunate to be able to offer a truly person-centred approach, using creative approaches to achieve the best outcome to meet each individual’s needs.
We also provide lifelong postural management for people with complex physical disabilities. This includes offering high quality assessment, analysis and providing individual 24 hour management plans to families/carers. We are committed to supporting you to develop your skills in this specialist area. To achieve this, we work closely with professionals from partner agencies such as wheelchair services, local authority occupational therapy and orthotics. Once established in the role of Band 6 you will offer quality regular supervision and skills development to B5 physiotherapists.
The Community learning disability team throughout Morecambe Bay is a friendly supportive multi-disciplinary team based across 3 sites. We pride ourselves in our holistic approach to supporting the health needs of adults with learning disabilities and our drive for continuous service development across all professions. We meet monthly as a whole team alternating virtual and face to face meetings. This post would suit an experienced B5 physiotherapist who is ready to progress in a specialist clinical role in a community setting.
We will support you to achieve your potential as a Specialist Learning Disability Physiotherapist. If you would like to join us on our improvement journey and take the next exciting steps in your career, we’d love to hear from you.
