Job Summary
We are looking to recruit an enthusiastic and innovative clinician to join the Department of Psychological Medicine as part of an established team providing psychological services to patients with long-term health and neurological conditions. This post is commissioned to provide a specialist psychology service for the Paediatric Diabetes Hospital and Community Teams.
Main Duties of the Job
The post involves providing direct and indirect psychotherapeutic interventions, with children and their families or carers. Multidisciplinary team working is key to this role and therefore the post also involves liaising with service managers, clinical team leads and allied health professionals to support the provision of a specialist Paediatric Diabetes Psychology Service.
The post holder will be expected to oversee provision of the Paediatric Diabetes Psychology Service within the Trust and ensure national guidelines are implemented for service delivery and advancement of the service. Leadership will also be provided to the Department of Psychological Medicine and the post holder will work closely with the Clinical Lead.
We have close working links with the local training course at Hull and we regularly have trainees on placement in the department. Continuing professional development of our clinicians is important and valued by the department, and therefore there are many opportunities to pursue this.
The post will be supervised and supported by the Clinical Lead for the Department of Psychological Medicine.
