Job summary Head of Personality Disorder & Complex Needs MDT - Consultant Clinical / Counselling Psychologists, or Senior Psychotherapists An opportunity has arisen for an exceptional individual to take on the lead role in the Personality Disorder & Complex Needs Multi-Disciplinary Team, in Essex University Partnership Trust (EPUT). The post holder will organise, develop and provide a highly specialist, high-quality service for adults with a diagnosis of personality disorder and complex needs (PD&CN) across Trust sites in Essex. The role requires strong leadership skills to bring together team members from different professional backgrounds and to help coordinate the PD&CN offer across a range of different services and settings. The post holder will possess a high level of clinical skill, oriented to this client group, as well as substantial experience of supporting colleagues through supervision, reflective activity, and consultation. Their approach to the role will be rooted in trauma-informed practice and understanding. Main duties of the job The post holder will work with the Deputy Clinical Director to ensure the MDT fulfils its key functions of: Specialist consultancy (including multi-disciplinary and multi-agency meetings), supervision and reflective practice to Trust services and external partners. Coordination and delivery of training to Trust services and external partners. Highly specialist case work with individuals with a diagnosis of personality disorder and complex needs. The post holder will be responsible for building and maintaining strong and effective working relationships with other individuals/teams/agencies/Directorates within and external to the Trust, involved in the delivery of services to people with a diagnosis of personality disorder and complex needs. This will include attendance at or communication with locality MDTs. Responsibility for the operational management of the staff team in the specialist PD&CN MDT and those falling under the operational remit of PD&CN MDT, including matters relating to recruitment, budget, leave etc (see detail below). Clinical supervision of members of the PD&CN MDT. As a senior clinician, demonstrating substantial clinical experience and post-qualification training sufficient to provide high-level interventions to complex clients in accordance with an area/s of evidence-based expertise (eg, DBT, MBT, CAT, CBT, Schema Therapy, TFP etc).
