Make your mark for patients We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Biomarker Lead to join our Precision Medicine team, based at our R&D hub in Slough, UK or Braine, Belgium. About the role The primary purpose of this role is to devise and deliver biomarker strategies for assigned projects across the drug development cycle, from pre-candidate selection to early- and late-stage clinical development. This role offers the opportunity to work on early-stage immunology and new modality assets, as well as contribute to programs across our portfolio. Who you’ll work with Reporting to the Head of Biomarker Leads you will be leading Biomarker strategy. Collaborating with colleagues across various project teams and contribute to the strategic direction of drug development programs. What you’ll do Develop and implement biomarker strategies in clinical studies, ensuring they are fit-for-purpose and aligned with clinical study goals. Align biomarker strategies with the Target Product Value Proposition (TPVP) and overall clinical development plans. Working with cross-functional teams advising on translational plans to support the development of biomarker strategies for pre-clinical assets. Provide scientific and strategic input to clinical development teams, ensuring that Biomarkers strategies support mechanistic and therapeutic hypothesis testing. Interested? For this role we’re looking for the following education, experience and skills PhD (or equivalent) with at least 5 years of relevant experience, or a highly experienced graduate with appropriate scientific and leadership experience. Proven track record in the development and implementation of biomarker strategies to support clinical development. Experience in disease areas aligned with UCB’s core Immunology and Neurology ambitions (e.g., Parkinson’s, Alzheimer’s Disease, Rheumatology and Dermatology). Strong leadership, interpersonal, and negotiation skills. Hands-on experience working with Clinical Development teams of clinical stage assets.
