Mother's Union Link Magazine Editor - Voluntary role
The purpose of this role is to take responsibility for the Diocesan Link magazine and all aspects of its production and distribution.
Key responsibilities:
1. Collect articles for inclusion in Link, ensuring contributions from the Diocesan President and Diocesan Chaplain.
2. Edit articles to ensure appropriateness.
3. Chase news stories in conjunction with the Sub-Editor, as necessary.
4. Work with the designer to create an attractive and informative Diocesan Mothers’ Union magazine.
5. Set a final deadline for copy submission for the next magazine, approximately 6 – 8 weeks before distribution.
6. Collate, proof, and finalize content for inclusion in Link.
7. Obtain quotations for printing costs and seek approval from the Treasurer of the Chichester Diocesan MU.
8. Proof-read the draft from the designer and liaise for any required amendments.
9. Liaise with the Diocesan Administrator to produce labels with Branch name, District name, and number of required copies.
10. Collate finished Link magazines for distribution at summer and autumn Council meetings, ensuring clear labeling of envelopes/bundles.
11. Sort assembled envelopes/bundles into Districts and package accordingly.
12. Keep some copies in reserve for additional requests.
Line management: Answerable to the Trustee Board.
