About the Role:
We are seeking an experienced and strategic Director of Finance to join Queen Margaret University as a member of the senior executive decision–making board. This is the most senior professional financial role within the University, pivotal in supporting the Principal and Senior Leadership Team in delivering the University's strategy.
The successful candidate will lead the university's Finance function, provide strategic financial input based on robust financial information, prepare and present financial reports to the University Court and its committees, and lead relationships with external bodies including the Scottish Funding Council, the University's bankers, and auditors.
About You:
* You will have proven experience in a senior financial role with a complex organisation, preferably within the higher education sector.
* You will be a qualified accountant (ACA, ACCA, CIMA, CIPFA) with substantial post–qualification experience.
* You will be a strong strategic thinker with expert analytical skills.
* You will possess excellent communication and presentation skills.
* You will have demonstrable experience in managing and developing a team effectively.
* You will be experienced in managing relationships with external bodies and stakeholders.
* You will have a strong understanding of financial controls and compliance requirements.
