Regional Category Manager - Metals & Raw Materials
Location: Renfrew, Scotland, United Kingdom, PA4 8XJ
The Regional Category Manager, available as a result of an internal promotion, will lead and develop the European category strategy for metals and raw materials and drive supply chain initiatives. This includes directly managing Europe’s raw materials category and serving as the “subject matter expert”, building a community of category leaders to execute the strategy. The role also manages and shapes the supply base to create a favourable advantage for Chart operating companies.

What you will do
* Define category strategy and gain buy-in from key stakeholders for specific initiatives to execute strategy.
* Drive collaboration and best practice sharing among category representatives across the operating companies.
* Implement Supply Agreements & price lists with suppliers that define fair sharing of risk & accountability.
* Monitor supply markets and commodity trends, and advise operating companies on how to respond.
* Select and drive implementation of the most effective supply chain (mills or distributors) balanced with operational needs and constraints.
* Continuously build and maintain a funnel of savings initiatives and achieve verified savings targets.
* Lead supplier management through deployment of supplier tiering and manage Tier 1 supplier relations.
* Support new supplier qualifications and implement measures to minimize quality, OTD, and cost risk.
* Identify and lead identification and execution of VAVE opportunities with suppliers.
* Develop and manage a communication plan, to include engagement activity, dissemination of sourcing strategy and compliance for Raw Materials among the Category Communities.
What do you bring?
* Degree in engineering, business administration, finance or related discipline.
* Relevant experience in the metals market.
* Experience of working across multiple locations, understanding the constraints and working culture within them.
* Strong leadership skills and ability to influence and lead small teams.
* Strategic focus with the ability to analyse, formulate and implement strategic procurement strategies to significantly reduce cost.
* Experience in negotiating high-value, complex procurement agreements.
* Excellent team player with the ability to work in a matrix environment with multiple customers.
* Strong inter-personal skills.
* Sets personal deliverables and maintains commitments.
* Accurately captures, records, and communicates information.
* Enjoys difficult challenges, finding solutions not problems.
* Excellent communication and influencing skills with an ability to clearly present ideas, concepts, and processes.
* Advanced competency in MS Office, including Excel, PowerPoint, Power BI, and Word.
