Tasks
* Assist the Planning Manager to develop and monitor the construction programme, ensuring compliance with the Strabag planning standards and the client requirements to provide a safe, efficient and cost-effective programme meeting all required access dates, milestones and key dates. Reporting to the Senior Planner.
* Attend project start-up, close, and mid meetings.
* Attend site visits.
* Prepare and maintain detailed engineering and construction schedules including development of critical path and project float.
* In conjunction with Senior Estimator, establish the plan and document scope, develop project schedules and/or preliminary cost estimates (for tender programmes).
* Make presentations to the Estimating Manager, Senior Management & Clients as required.
* Monitor hours and costs to determine trends and to assist in forecasting.
* Help to develop cost and resource loaded construction programmes.
* Coordinate the review of estimated design costs including equipment, installation, labour, materials, preparations, and other related costs.
* Coordinate projects with all affected parties to ensure projects are completed on schedule and government regulations and health and safety requirements are maintained.
* Interface with other functional teams including, but not limited to: BIM Team, design team, estimation, and construction execution.
Qualifications
* Construction related professional qualification of at least a HNC level.
* CSCS Card.
* Competence in Asta Powerproject.
* Experience of construction contracting.
* Active experience of working with a wide range of planning techniques in serving both tendering and contract delivery.
* A clear understanding of the commercial and contractual interfaces with the planning function.
* Computer literate with a good working knowledge of Microsoft packages, including Microsoft Project.
* Knowledge of the development and implementation of Asset structures, Planning Standards, WBS, and Planning processes in a BIM environment.
* Knowledge of Safety, Environment, and Risk Management.
* Strong communication skills.
