Ensuring the successful delivery of our support and monitoring to farmers and land managers undertaking regenerative farming and nature restoration projects (both for Biodiversity Net Gain, BNG, and wider biodiversity and habitat restoration). Driving the continued growth of the environmental impact and improvement our clients are undertaking. You will be operating in an agile workplace, managing the day-to-day activities of the team, overseeing the development of new, and monitoring of ongoing projects with clients, and ensure effective communication and collaboration across different departments to achieve our strategic goals. This will include supporting the development, testing and implementation of novel new techniques for biodiversity monitoring from earth observation data, such as high resolution drone imagery, water and acoustic Internet of Things sensors. You will play a crucial role in connecting the dots between landowners and businesses to deliver nature based solutions. Empowering land managers to obtain a sustainable financial return for managing their land and producing food in ways that benefit the environment. To learn more visit www.csxcarbon.com Key Responsibilities: Team Leadership & Management: Lead, manage, and inspire the Biodiversity Team, fostering a collaborative and results-driven work environment. Team Meetings: Lead regular team meetings to review progress, address challenges, and provide support and guidance for team members. Effective Communication: Maintain open communication channels with all relevant stakeholders, internal and external, ensuring clear and timely updates on project developments and status. Process Improvement: Continuously assess current processes and workflows, identifying opportunities for improvement to enhance team efficiency and project delivery. Cross-Team Collaboration: Work closely with other teams to ensure effective project integration and align efforts towards organisational goals. Business Development: Support land owning clients to successfully deliver their biodiversity projects through nature-based solutions. Skills and qualifications required: Degree in environmental science or similar field. At least being an Associate Member of CIEEM and working towards full membership. Experience in managing a small team and multiple projects at a time. Strong knowledge of Biodiversity Net Gain and its implications for planning and development. Familiarity with various UK habitats and habitat classification systems, such as UKHab. Understanding of and interest in nature based solutions, habitat restoration and the broader environmental benefits it can offer. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, including a good command of English, both written and oral. Adaptable and collaborative team player with good communication skills and effective leadership skills. Comfortable and familiar with Excel and Word. Full UK Driving Licence, flexibility, ability and willingness to travel and undertake site visits and field work across the UK. Desirable skills Previous experience in the biodiversity/ecology sector Level 3 or higher FISC Experience in using QGIS/ArcGIS Our Offer A full-time role with CSX.
