You will work closely with teachers and other support staff to create a nurturing and inclusive learning environment. Key Responsibilities of Teaching Assistant Assist in the development and implementation of individualised education plans for the student to tailor educational activities and resources to meet their specific needs. Provide one-on-one support to the students to help them understand and complete their work, providing additional explanations and assistance as needed. Monitor and assess the student’s progress, provide feedback to teachers and adjust support strategies as necessary. Collaborate with teachers, support staff, and parents to ensure a cohesive approach to the student’s development. Create a positive and inclusive classroom environment to foster a welcoming and supportive atmosphere where the student feels valued and included. Use a variety of teaching methods to engage and motivate the student, catering to their diverse learning styles and needs. Maintain accurate records of the student’s progress and report to teachers, parents, and other relevant parties. Requirements for Teaching Assistant Prior experience in a similar role is essential, demonstrating an understanding of the unique challenges and needs of students with specific educational needs. Strong communication and interpersonal skills to effectively communicate with the student, parents, and colleagues, building positive and supportive relationships. Demonstrate the ability to establish trust and rapport with all members of the school community. Show a deep commitment to helping the student by exhibiting patience and empathy in your interactions. Relevant qualifications or training in special educational needs (desirable but not essential). To work with GSL Education as a Teaching Assistant, you will need: Have the right to work in the UK. Have an up-to-date CV with two relevant references from within the last 2 years. Have an enhanced DBS registered to the Updated Service or be happy to apply for one with GSL Education.
