Salary: Circa £50,000 depending on experience.
Dynamic (hybrid) working: Minimum of 4 days per week on-site due to workload classification.

The opportunity:
This opportunity is for a test development engineer to work as part of the Circuit Card Assembly (PCBA) manufacturing business unit with a focus on the development of our test solutions. The Circuit Card Assembly Business unit produce high complexity products in a high mix, low volume manufacturing system. The business unit is rapidly growing in order to achieve the large backlog of orders over the next 5-10 years, with the production output more than tripling.
You will work in the test engineering team working closely with test, manufacturing and process engineers whilst building strong relationships with stakeholders including the operations team, design support team and Calibration & Maintenance team.
Role responsibilities:
* Development of manufacturing test packages and solutions, with particular focus on flying probe (in-circuit testing) for circuit card assemblies.
* Flying Probe (In-circuit testing):
o Undertake test coverage analysis of circuit card designs to establish a test strategy and make Design-for-Testability recommendations to product design engineers.
o Creation of flying probe test packages for flying probe (in-circuit testing) of component and net-level defects on circuit card assemblies. Development activities to include:
+ Creation of flying probe test programs from circuit card assembly data pack.
+ Debug of flying probe test package to establish suitable test method and limits.
+ Creation of manufacturing test documentation, including test specifications, proving reports, and compliance matrices.
+ Publishing test documentation using company Product-Lifecycle Management tool.
o Provide technical support on flying probe and in-circuit testing to operations team. Support activities to include:
+ Assessing production issues with test programs raised via problem reports.
+ Action change management to test programs using change notices.
+ Act as point of technical knowledge on in-circuit testing issues that arise in a production environment.
+ Conducting test result analysis and product certification for delivered packages.
Additional responsibilities:
* Keeping up-to-date with future manufacturing test capabilities and processes outside of MBDA.
* Support the Manufacturing Engineering Manager in developing the test strategy for all PCBA products.
* Continuous improvement activities including test time reduction.
What we're looking for from you:
* HNC/HND (Electronics) Level of Qualifications or equivalent.
* Experience in electronics manufacture and test.
* Experience of flying probe test package development, with preference for experience developing on SPEA Flying Probe Test Systems.
* A good understanding of measurement and test principles, and equipment.
* Experience diagnosing faults with electronics.
* Good Planning and Organising skills with attention to detail.
* Analytical and problem-solving skills.
