Overview
As Quantity Surveyor, you will be working within and assisting the commercial and construction team to ensure a successful project is delivered, while maintaining relationships to maximize commercial returns and manage risk.

Responsibilities
1. Implement commercial strategy
2. Support the SQS and MQS commercial functions, assisting with and taking responsibility for:
1. Preparing tenders, analysing, selecting appropriate subcontractors, negotiation, and finalising subcontract orders, financial and commercial management of subcontractors to Final Account completion.
2. Site records and document control
3. Site measurement records
4. Assisting in the preparation of forecasts, targets, and CV reconciliations
5. Valuations
6. Prepare variations with adequate records and details, agree as works progress
7. Update projected Final Account, prepare and submit in a timely manner
8. Liaise with and commercially influence/challenge site management team
9. Maintain and protect JSS commercial and contractual entitlement
10. CVR - Be actively involved in and understand the process, maintain independent view
11. Risk/opportunity - Review and consider
12. Insurances/warranties - Develop understanding
13. Cash management - Be aware and be actively involved to ensure good cash management
14. Tender - Support as required
15. Manage and oversee AQS and TQS, checking and taking responsibility for their work
16. Involvement with and take some responsibility for maintaining site records and control documents
Experience
1. Demonstrate clear written and verbal communication skills.
2. Ability to effectively utilise a range of technology platforms
3. Be fully conversant with the use of the Standard Method of Measurement
4. Demonstrate ownership/commercial awareness
5. Effective time management, organisational, interpersonal, and negotiation skills
Qualifications
1. Educated to degree level and working toward the relevant professional accreditation
2. JCT
3. Letter and report writing
4. Negotiation
5. CVRs
6. 2-day Safety appreciation
7. Contract/commercial appreciation
8. CIOB
