Are you an experienced Payroll Officer seeking a flexible, part-time role? A well-established manufacturing company in Wakefield is looking for a driven professional to manage payroll operations for 150 employees across salaried and hourly roles. This is a fantastic opportunity to work 24 hours a week (3 days a week) while delivering accuracy, compliance, and efficiency in payroll processes within a supportive team environment.
Key Responsibilities:
As the Payroll Officer, you'll play a central role in ensuring payroll runs smoothly and accurately while supporting compliance and reporting requirements. Your responsibilities include:
* Monthly Payroll Production: Process payroll for salaried employees and oversee time and attendance data for hourly staff using the inhouse payroll system
* Timesheets Management: Review weekly timesheets, address exceptions, and ensure accurate preparation for payroll runs.
* Financial Reporting: Create payroll journals, factory hours reports, and headcount changes for the Finance team.
* Compliance & Reporting: Submit RTI for two PAYE accounts, handle tax deductions, and manage annual P11D submissions.
* Pensions Administration: Enrol employees in the company pension scheme and upload monthly figures in line with regulatory requirements.
* Payments Setup: Prepare payroll and HMRC payments for banking approval on a monthly basis.
What We're Looking For:
The ideal candidate is an experienced payroll professional with excellent organizational skills, a keen eye for detail, and the ability to work efficiently in a part-time capacity. You'll need the following:
* Proven payroll experience
* A strong understanding of payroll processes, tax compliance, and pension administration.
* Familiarity with payroll systems is highly desirable.
* Ability to handle large volumes of data, with excellent attention to detail.
* Strong communication skills to liaise with employees, managers, and agencies.
