You’ll oversee both the residential and education services, ensuring outstanding care, education, and compliance with Ofsted/CIW regulations. About the Role: As Principal, you will take full responsibility for the residential and education services, ensuring that the home and school provide a safe, nurturing, and high-quality environment for young people. You will report directly to the Responsible Individual and Proprietor and line-manage both Care and Education staff, including the Head Teacher. Key Responsibilities: Strategic & Leadership Responsibilities: Hold Registration for the service, ensuring full compliance with Ofsted/CIW standards. Lead and oversee all residential and education services, ensuring the strategic vision, ethos, and objectives are implemented effectively. Ensure that all young people receive high-quality education and care in line with DfE/Estyn requirements. Work closely with Local Authorities, external agencies, and safeguarding bodies to ensure the best outcomes for children. Safeguarding & Compliance: Oversee all safeguarding matters, ensuring compliance with company policies, statutory requirements, and best practices. Conduct on-site audits, provide feedback reports, and implement necessary improvements in care and education services. Ensure the school and residential home are inspection-ready at all times, supporting the Head Teacher and Senior Care Team in preparation. Financial & Operational Management: Budget planning and financial oversight to ensure effective cost control while maintaining high standards of care. Provide regular performance reports to the Operations Director and Board, including KPI reports, compliance updates, and lessons learned from complaints and inspections. Implement risk appraisal and quality assurance procedures to maintain high-value services and positive outcomes for young people. Team & Staff Development: Lead recruitment, training, and performance management for all care and education staff. Foster a positive workplace culture, ensuring staff development, engagement, and retention. Promote equality, diversity, and inclusion in all aspects of service delivery.
