Prospero Teaching is currently recruiting for a dedicated and compassionate KS1 SEND Teaching Assistant to support children with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND) in mainstream schools in Birmingham. This is an excellent opportunity for a KS1 SEND TA looking to work in supportive and inclusive environments where every child is given the opportunity to succeed.

Hours - 8:30 am - 3:30pm : Mon - Fri (term time only)
Key Responsibilities:
· Provide one-on-one or small group support for students with SEND, helping them to access the mainstream curriculum.
· Assist in differentiating learning activities to meet the needs of SEND students.
· Support students with behavioural or emotional difficulties by using positive reinforcement and tailored strategies.
· Monitor and record student progress, sharing information with the teacher to adjust learning plans as needed.
· Help with personal care and mobility for students where necessary.
· Encourage social inclusion and assist with peer relationships.
· Work collaboratively with the class teacher, SENDCO, and other support staff.
Key Requirements:
· Experience working with students with SEND, ideally in a mainstream school environment.
· Level 2 or 3 qualification in Supporting Teaching and Learning or equivalent
· Strong understanding of SEND and how it affects learning and development.
· Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
· A patient, empathetic, and adaptable approach to working with students with additional needs.
· A DBS check (or willingness to apply for one).
· A passion for education and helping students with SEND thrive in a mainstream classroom.
To be eligible for any job with Prospero Teaching, you must:
· Hold Right to Work in the UK.
· Hold an enhanced child barred list DBS certificate registered with the online update service, or be willing to process a new application.
· Provide two professional child-related references that cover at least the last two years.
