Housing Manager - Neighbourhood Services
An exciting opportunity has arisen for a dynamic Housing Manager to lead a team of Housing Officers and Assistants in delivering high-quality housing management services. This is a leadership role where you will champion tenant satisfaction, oversee tenancy and estate management, and collaborate with stakeholders to create safe, sustainable, and vibrant communities.
The Role
·Inspire, coach, and manage a team to deliver exceptional neighbourhood services, meeting performance targets and driving continuous improvement.
·Oversee tenancy checks, estate inspections, and void management, ensuring compliance with tenancy agreements and maintaining high property standards.
·Develop effective communication strategies to engage tenants, build relationships with tenant associations, and improve satisfaction.
·Ensure timely actions on tenancy breaches, anti-social behaviour, and fire risk assessments, and take necessary legal actions in collaboration with the council's Legal Services.
·Manage budgets effectively, ensuring value for money and identifying opportunities to reduce costs while enhancing service delivery.
·Work with stakeholders, including health services, police, and community groups, to deliver joined-up services and improve quality of life for residents.
·Address complaints from residents, MPs, and council members, using feedback to drive service improvement.
The Ideal Candidate
·Educated to degree level or equivalent, or qualified in housing (e.g., NVQ Level 4).
·Proven track record of managing neighbourhood services in a social housing environment, driving team performance, and improving organisational outcomes.
·Comprehensive understanding of housing legislation, tenancy management, and voids and lettings within social housing.
·Ability to attract, motivate, and develop team members, fostering a high-performance culture.
·Excellent verbal and written communication, with experience in report writing and presentations.
