We are seeking a part-time receptionist to join our dedicated team at our brand new school, Acer Academy opening in 2025. This role is crucial in ensuring the smooth and efficient daily operation of the school office and providing vital administrative support to staff, students, and parents. Acer Academy is a new special school for pupils aged 11-16 years who have a diagnosis of Autism/SEMH; we are part of Kings Academy Trust. We offer a broad and balanced curriculum for all pupils with cutting-edge facilities in a nurturing environment.
The ideal candidate will be friendly, organized, and have excellent communication skills to greet visitors, answer phones, and provide administrative support. The role requires working around school hours and offering a welcoming presence for staff, students, and parents.
Key Responsibilities:
* Greeting visitors: Providing a warm and professional first impression to all visitors.
* Answering telephone calls: Managing incoming calls efficiently and professionally.
* Handling inquiries: Responding to inquiries in person, by phone, or email.
* Administrative support: Assisting with various office tasks, including data entry and filing.
* Maintaining records: Keeping accurate records of visitors and other relevant information.
* Supporting school events: Assisting with the smooth running of school events and activities.
Required Skills:
* Excellent communication skills: Both written and verbal.
* Strong organizational skills: Ability to prioritize tasks and manage time effectively.
* Proficiency in basic computer skills: Including Microsoft Office Suite.
* Ability to work as part of a team: Collaborating effectively with other staff members.
* Professional and friendly demeanor: Creating a positive and welcoming environment for all.
