The Role:
This is a key role for someone detail-oriented, methodical, and focused on ensuring quality compliance. The Material Verification & Documentation Controller will play an essential part in ensuring materials and components meet rigorous specifications and industry standards. This position is primarily office-based and works closely with a team to review and validate material certifications for raw materials and finished products.
The role involves verifying test certifications against mechanical and chemical specifications. You will work to clear specifications detailed in orders or drawings, ensuring supplier certifications match requirements.
Additionally, you will flag and address discrepancies by collaborating with procurement and quality teams, ensuring all issues are resolved promptly. The role requires navigating various standards and maintaining accurate, thorough documentation of inspections.
Key Responsibilities
* Verify supplier certifications for compliance with specified requirements, such as chemical composition and mechanical properties.
* Interpret engineering specifications and confirm alignment with test data, ensuring compliance with mechanical standards.
* Manage and complete blank certifications tailored to the inspection type, keeping meticulous records.
* Collaborate with procurement to address and resolve discrepancies, ensuring supplier accountability.
* Maintain compliance with national and international standards.
Skills and Qualifications
The ideal candidate will demonstrate:
* Experience in a quality or inspection role, ideally in a regulated or engineering environment.
* An ability to interpret technical specifications, engineering drawings, and material certifications.
* Strong attention to detail and an organised, methodical approach to record-keeping.
* Proactive problem-solving skills and confidence in liaising with suppliers and internal teams.
* Familiarity with metallic materials, engineering processes, or basic metallurgy (preferred, but training provided).
* Experience with ERP systems, particularly SAP, and an understanding of standards like ISO would be advantageous.
