A recent OFSTED report states that; Leaders have high expectations for staff and pupils alike. They have planned an ambitious curriculum for all pupils, including for those with special educational needs and/or disabilities (SEND) As an SEN Teaching assistant at the school, you will be supporting a child in Year 1 with autism. As part of your role, you will be required to modify and adapt whole class activities as necessary under the overall direction and supervision of a teacher. The child finds it difficult to stay ‘on task’, and needs encouragement to persevere with their learning. It will be your responsibility to assess pupil progress alongside their IEP, and to support them to meet individual targets set my the school and parents. The successful applicant would need to have a secure understanding of the EYFS/KS1 curriculum and previous experience of working with children with SEN. The school are looking for a dedicated SEN teaching assistant who is willing to commit to a long-term position to ensure consistency for the child. This is a full time position to start immediately and to continue for as long as the child needs support, potentially until they have completed their Primary Education.
