Contract: Up to 2x Permanent Positions
Location: Culham, Oxfordshire (Formal base will be RAL, Didcot but you will mainly work at Culham on a day-to-day basis)
Together, our scientist, technologists, engineers and business support team explore the unknown and turn what they find into work that changes the world around us.
Come and discover how much you can achieve when you’re surrounded by world-leading experts, encouraged to constantly learn and empowered to explore your curiosity.
Have you got wide technical engineering skills and knowledge? Do you want to share your knowledge and support the development of a new technical training programme?
STFC at RAL are collaborating with UKAEA developing an in-house engineering training facility targeting the practical specialised core skills required for our respective sites. The programme will be a bespoke bolt on for 1st year apprentices interweaving with their existing college training. The training facility will be based on the Culham site and the successful candidates will work predominately from the Culham Site.
The focus will be to give apprentices an appreciation of mechanical, electrical and electronic disciplines as a firm grounding to build on and thrive in their respective placements on-site. It is anticipated that, in general, all engineering apprentices will go through the same programme irrespective of their primary discipline. The training will also demonstrate how the learning is relevant in the workplace and provide a good overview of both sites (UKAEA and STFC).
