A Customs Coordinator is required on a contract basis until November 2025 initially for an E&P company based in Kingswells, Aberdeen. This role offers a hybrid working arrangement and is essential in ensuring the compliant execution of customs and export control processes. The successful candidate will play a key role in managing import and export activities, aligning with UK regulations and the UKCS Border Operating Model, and supporting logistics operations to maintain regulatory compliance and efficiency.
Duties and Responsibilities include:
* Ensuring compliance with UK import/export regulations, including UK Customs laws, the UKCS Border Operating Model, and export controls.
* Overseeing the movement of goods to and from the UK Continental Shelf (UKCS), ensuring full adherence to customs requirements.
* Acting as the primary point of contact for UKCS customs-related queries from internal teams and external stakeholders.
* Staying up to date with regulatory changes, advising on necessary adjustments to compliance procedures.
* Preparing and reviewing vessel and helicopter manifests, ensuring all customs documentation is accurate and compliant.
* Supporting suppliers in entering Declaration by Conduct (DbC) reference numbers in Kabal, ensuring Onshore Logistics Coordinators have the necessary approvals for loading and unloading vessels and helicopters.
* Collaborating with IT and ERP teams, where required, to support the integration of a customs solution system within the company’s ERP system, ensuring seamless alignment with logistics and customs workflows.
* Conducting self-audits on customs processes, identifying risks and implementing corrective actions.
* Working closely with Logistics and Procurement teams to maintain compliance in supply chain operations.
* Supporting voluntary disclosures, customs declarations, tariff classification, and valuation processes.
* Providing training and guidance to internal teams on customs compliance best practices.
Applicants to this role require:
* Proven experience in UK Customs compliance, import/export regulations, and trade compliance, particularly related to the UKCS Border Operating Model.
* Strong understanding of HMRC regulations, classification, valuation and origin rules
* Experience with customs software and freight/logistics operations.
* Knowledge of Kabel, Declaration by Conduct (DbC) processes, and ERP system integration for customs solutions.
* Experience supporting or implementing customs-related digital solutions.
* Strong analytical skills with attention to detail.
* Ability to work independently and collaborate with internal and external stakeholders.
