Key Responsibilities: Provide Care and Support: Deliver high-quality, individualised care to children and young people, ensuring their needs are met in a safe, caring, relaxed, and homely environment. Promote Independence: Encourage and support young people to develop independent living skills, make their own decisions, and express their individuality. Foster Social Interactions: Facilitate social interactions and peer relationships, promoting confidence and social skills development. Support Health and Education: Assist young people in their health, education, and overall development, ensuring they receive comprehensive care and support. Effective Communication: Engage in effective communication with young people, listening to their views and wishes, and ensuring their voices are heard. Collaborate with Families: Work closely with families to help children achieve their targets and develop independence and social skills. Transition Support: Aid young people in their transition to adulthood, providing care planning and support to help them adjust to new environments. Reflective Practice: Participate in team meetings, supervisions, and appraisals, reflecting on practice to continuously improve the care offered to young people. Team Collaboration: Collaborate with colleagues to ensure consistency of care and a supportive team environment. Requirements: Experience in a similar role, preferably within a residential care setting. Passion for working with children and young people with learning disabilities. Strong communication and interpersonal skills. Ability to work collaboratively as part of a team. Commitment to providing a nurturing and supportive environment. Understanding of child-centred approaches and practices. Flexibility to work shifts, including evenings and weekends. Why Join Us?
