Do you want to work for a prestigious SME who are going through a pivotal point in their growth strategy? I am working exclusively with my client to recruit a highly experienced Senior Logistics Co-ordinator responsible for arranging, coordinating, and tracking movements/shipments while ensuring the required legal paperwork is completed correctly, received, and saved to ensure compliance with the relevant regulations.
The key responsibilities are:
1. Planning and setting up jobs and allocating work to customers and hauliers.
2. Uploading or creating jobs within SAP/WR1.
3. Communicating and/or escalating issues, price changes, and surcharges appropriately and promptly.
4. External monthly customer and supplier visits to attend meetings.
5. Producer (monthly) and Offtake site visits (quarterly) for meetings.
6. Attendance of vessel loadings and material inspections as and when required.
7. Caretaking all aspects (e.g. bookings, documentation, communications, etc.) of all loads on allocated routes from collection to delivery.
8. Utilising SAP/WR1 to record all jobs, and with attention to detail, ensuring all costs and charges are correctly and accurately recorded therein.
9. Ensuring that all paperwork is accurately generated, sent, received and filed using a standardised format.
10. Making decisions that maximise loads and profitability, including using preferred hauliers and referencing back to the required haulier mix.
11. Proactively monitor activities to anticipate issues as early as possible and take steps to resolve and/or communicate to the Head of Logistics and Service Delivery.
12. Working with the accounts and sales teams to manage customer credit limits and helping ensure that customers stay within them.
13. Raising purchase orders, sales orders and sales invoices in line with company procedures and required timescales.
14. Managing the customs process for all exports and imports on their allocated job portfolio.
15. Updating Haulier Portals with Paperwork/UCR/MRNs etc.
16. Having regular update meetings with customers and suppliers to build on and cement relationships.
17. Being aware of month-ends, company processes, and procedures around these events, and ensuring that all costs are accurately confirmed or estimated and included in the system prior to close.
18. Assisting the Head of Service Delivery to ensure operational coverage and efficiency is maintained at all times.
19. Assisting the Head of Compliance & the Compliance team in ensuring and maintaining compliance with the necessary regulations and company requirements.
Skills and Attributes:
1. Must have a minimum of 3 years or more relevant experience of transfrontier shipment (TFS) regulations.
2. Customs clearance experience post-Brexit.
3. Strong communication and organisational skills.
4. Ability to work in a pressurised and reactive environment.
5. Strong commercial awareness and numeracy skills.
6. Attention to detail, with a desire to achieve with care and accuracy.
7. Ability to multi-task and prioritise workload.
8. Experience and proficiency in using Microsoft Office applications and, ideally SAP/WR1.
To be successful in the role you will have a full clean driving licence and your own transport. The role is offered on a Hybrid basis with flexible working if required.
