Join our dynamic and multidisciplinary Water Environment Team as a Senior or Principal Flood Risk Modeller in our Basingstoke office - whilst also taking advantage of our flexible hybrid working model.

We have secured places on major frameworks with the Environment Agency, Wessex Water, Anglian Water, National Highways, Southern Water and South West Water. As well as our existing major infrastructure clients, we have a large pipeline of work which we would love you to be part of.
You will be a senior technical resource that will guide our more junior staff and proactively develop our offering to the Environment Agency and private sector clients. This position offers an unparalleled opportunity to support a talented and diverse team committed to innovation and efficiency.
Responsibilities:
* Collaborate: Work closely with our clients and internal specialists across disciplines to ensure we successfully deliver a wide range of fluvial, coastal, surface water or drainage flood risk management projects.
* Expert: Using packages such as Flood Modeller, TUFLOW, HEC-RAS and InfoWorks ICM; you will develop & check hydraulic models to assist the design of flood alleviation schemes, flood risk assessments and Environment Agency flood maps.
* Deliver: Review and produce high-quality technical reports, documenting model build and uncertainties in the model build process. Conceptualise and scope modelling approaches, with consideration of the risks and opportunities in each.
* Lead: Mentor junior staff within the team to support their professional development. Lead and input into tenders ranging from innovative one-off projects to multimillion pound framework contracts.
* Quality: Keep up to date with developments in legislation and guidelines that may affect our services. Use AECOM's project management systems to deliver high-quality outputs to our clients in line with the agreed programme and budget.
Qualifications:
* Bachelor's degree (or equivalent) in Civil Engineering or other relevant discipline
* Evidence of significant experience in hydraulic and modelling software (Flood Modeller and/or TUFLOW).
* Demonstrable knowledge of Environment Agency requirements in preparing flood models for flood risk assessments.
* Understanding of hydrological assessments using FEH and REFH2.
* Strong GIS skills using QGIS, ArcGIS and/or MapInfo.
