Since joining the Island Learning Trust in 2020, Sunny Bank Primary School has been on a rapid improvement journey and outcomes for children at the school have been good for the last two years. At the end of 2024, the KS2 Reading outcomes at the expected standard and the higher standard exceeded the National average. The percentage of children reaching the expected standards for Reading was 100% and for RWM combined was 80%, well above the National average. Attainment in phonics is broadly in line with National standards. The successful candidate will be someone who is passionate about helping children to overcome barriers so that they can achieve excellent outcomes. They will be joining a school with established routines, responsible and ambitious children, staff who have the correct balance of support and challenge, and a local community of stakeholders and parents who work in partnership to secure the best outcomes for our children.
