More detail about the role: We are looking for an enthusiastic registered nurse to join the AKI Team. This position would suit either a Band 5 nurse looking to develop specialist skills and an understanding of a specialist nurse role or, an existing Band 6 looking to diversify into a new sphere of expertise. Both should be considered as career progression opportunities. Renal experience is advantageous, but not essential. On a daily basis, the successful candidate would prioritise the workload for the day either alongside the Band 7 or independently. Following which, they would review the patients across a variety of clinical areas. Reviews will take the form of either face to face or virtual. Following training and on-going clinical support and supervision, the post holder will be expected to proficiently run an organise an AKI out-patient clinic for patients identified during admission as needing further advice and clinical management following discharge. This service currently covers the Exeter and East Devon region and clinics are held locally. Having access to a car would be desirable, but not essential. The successful candidate should be an excellent communicator and approachable. They should be well organised and able to work both independently and part of a team. Teaching and education is an essential part of this role. This may take the form of either informal and formal education sessions across the Trust to a variety of healthcare professionals. The successful candidate will be expected to participate in clinical audit, local and regional quality improvements programmes, evaluate research and present any relevant findings to a multi-disciplinary team This role requires flexibility and the ability to work well under pressure. Working Pattern: Full time (37.5) hours although we would consider 30 hours and above for the right candidate. Actual working times would be negotiated but ideally between 8am to 5pm.
