Business Development Manager - Bur St Edmunds (Hybrid working) - ASAP start - Permanent role - £45,000 - £65,000 PA (depending on experience)
Our client is at an exciting stage in their story with significant growth and they are recruiting experienced Business Development Managers to join their team to support the identification and development of low/zero carbon and sustainable retrofit solutions for businesses and commercial buildings across the UK.
They offer a full range of energy and water reduction services from initial consultancy through to final project delivery. This one-stop-shop approach has seen us deliver over 1000 energy, water, and carbon projects across the UK utilizing technologies like LED lighting, Solar PV, Heat Pumps, HVAC insulation, Building Fabric measures, water saving measures, Variable Speed Drives, Building Energy Management Systems, Monitoring and Metering, energy storage, and many more energy/water/carbon efficiency improvement areas.
Their commercial clients range from prestigious names in hospitality, education, horticulture, and agriculture to local authorities and SMEs.
They are looking for an energetic, focused, and self-motivated solutions-based Business Development Manager who will be responsible for developing new business. You will do this by becoming a trusted advisor, providing direction & insight to win business for decarbonisation projects and longer-term net-zero programmes. The successful candidate will have the presence to operate at all levels including senior C-level executives, be a great listener, and have a track record of winning new business.
Key Accountabilities:
* Identify new business opportunities & generate new sales leads.
* Work with technical colleagues to develop opportunities to successful closure.
* Build strong relationships to become a credible trusted advisor to our clients.
* Develop, maintain & report on a pipeline through our CRM, Hubspot.
Our Ideal Candidate:
* A passion for, or an interest in the sustainability sector.
* Have completed professional sales training, such as Sandler.
* Self-motivated and driven to succeed.
* Resilient with a positive mindset.
* Confident and professional both over the phone/video and face to face.
* Possesses excellent verbal and written communication skills.
* Has good organisational skills.
* Ideally has experience in selling services to Local Authorities, Housing Associations, Education, Health, Commercial, and Retail & Leisure Sectors.
* Ideally has experience of solution/consultative selling & building bespoke value propositions with customers across a complex range of technology & solutions.
Candidates don’t have to be technical experts in any particular associated technology like solar or EV as we have a team that helps with that. While a track record and understanding is an obvious advantage, what we look for most is fit with our culture and approach.
