The role
As a Training Support Manager with three direct reports, and further 11 reporting to them them, you'll have a role that's out of the ordinary. You'll be embedded and visible within the Royal School of Military Engineering (RSME) training branch and pivotal to the successful delivery of training to the Royal Engineer soldiers.
Day-to-day, you'll work proactively with Staff Officer Level 1 (SO1) Training and offer consistency, experience, guidance and mentoring on all aspects of Military Engineering training.
You will:
* Lead the training planning, scheduling and delivery activity across courses delivered in Minely and Medway
* Have oversight of the training and demand planning cell across the RSME partnership to ensure the critical training capabilities are delivered to support Field Army
* Oversee the preparation and assurance of training design documentation produced by Babcock and the training secondary contractors whilst ensuring the training change process is efficient and effective with appropriate governance applied
* Ensure Babcock RSME training team are tasked and execute requirements to the complete satisfaction of the customer
* Maintain working relationship with HQ RSME Chief of Staff (COS) and other members of Contract Management Team (CMT)
This role is full time, 37 hours per week and is based on site at Chatham with regular travel to Minley on average once per week.
Essential experience of the Training Support Manager
* Previous experience in a military training environment with knowledge and understanding of the Systems Approach to Training (SAT). Knowledge of JSP 822 advantageous
* Excellent written and oral communicator
* Possess financial and commercial acumen
* Proven project and operational management experience and ability to manage and deliver complex outputs
* Proven track record of working within a busy customer focused organisation, demonstrating confidence to build client relationships at all levels
Qualifications for the Training Support Manager
* Educated to degree level or have commensurate and relevant experience
* Hold a valid driving licence suitable for use in the UK

The successful candidate must be able to achieve and maintain Security Check (SC) security clearance for this role.
