We have a vacancy for an experienced and dynamic Retail Manager for our award-winning independent deli in Shipston on Stour.
You will have a proven ability to motivate and develop a team, as well as passion for food. A knowledge of local, seasonal and artisanal produce is essential, as is a stylish and detailed eye for presentation. We require an inspiring and motivated individual who thrives in a busy customer-facing environment who understands how to grow an independent food retail business. This is an active and independent role. Our building covers 3 floors, lifting and carrying stock is involved.
You will already have at least 2 years experience at senior sales level. This should include effective staff management, ability to demonstrate good stock control, an understanding of retail finance, an outstanding customer service attitude and the ability to instil this in others. The ability to lead a team is crucial. Your communication skills should demonstrate empathy as well as diplomacy. You must have the ability to communicate effectively with a wide variety of people ranging from customers to suppliers, including your team and line manager. A good knowledge of Excel and Word are essential.
As Retail store manager, you will work in collaboration with your line manager to support your team achieving their goals & going above and beyond for our customers.

Core Duties
To continue the smooth running of the shop.
To demonstrate an exacting eye for detail, in the display and quality of our products.
Ensure goals and target are met throughout the team
Lead by example in excellent customer service
To ensure integrity and accuracy of financial aspects.
To manage staff rotas, and to manage and accurately record staff absence and holidays
To conduct staff inductions and appraisals. To support and train staff and lead on-going coaching and development.
To manage all budgetary responsibilities
To ensure procedures are in place to demonstrate stock control.
To keep the shop and displays meticulously clean and tidy at all times, and to meet all stringent hygiene standards.
To operate the till, and accurately handle cash and card payments, and ensuring your team do the same.
To understand and analyse sales, spending and footfall trends week-to-week and month-to-month.
To receive deliveries, unpack, price and re-shelve or store stock.
To complete annual stocktake and other control systems as necessary.
To be vigilant at all times and to help minimise stock loss.
To ensure that excellent, knowledgeable and warm customer service is demonstrated at all times
